Volunteer
Volunteering is a practice of stewardship: competent service, dedication and care for the container. If you want to help Nameless Mountain hold the space, this is a great way to participate, meet people, and build the center with us.
Stewards also earn participation credits that they can apply to events and retreats in lieu of money.
How It Works
-
We run volunteering in two simple ways:
1) Work the event, attend the event
For most weekly events and daylongs, if you sign up for a volunteer shift, you get free admission to that event.2) Credits for extra service
Any volunteer hours beyond a standard shift earn credits you can save and use later for events and retreat discounts. -
Event Shifts (weekly + daylongs)
A standard shift is usually 2–3 hours (setup, hospitality, tea bar, dishes, closing reset). Volunteers who work a standard shift attend that event for free.Retreat Crew (multi-day events)
Retreat Crew helps with setup, daily operations, and breakdown/reset. Crew seats are limited and require a minimum service commitment.Lead Steward Cohort
For proven volunteers who want deeper responsibility, training, and consistency across events and retreats.Skilled Service
Carpentry, electrical, photography, design, admin, and other specialist support. These projects usually earn credits and may be eligible for a higher credit rate depending on the work. -
How Credits Work
1 hour of service = 1 credit
Credits can be saved and redeemed for event tickets and retreat discounts.
Some roles may earn credits at a higher rate (for example: shift leads, skilled trades, and heavy-lift or late-night reset work). Any multiplier is agreed upon in advance.
Typical Redemptions
Weekly events: usually covered by a standard shift on the same day.
Daylongs: you can use credits for a full or partial comp.
Retreats: Retreat Crew seats can cover full attendance when the minimum commitment is met. If you are not on Retreat Crew, you can redeem credits to lower the cost of your ticket.
-
Not all service is physical. We offer accessible roles such as:
check-in and hospitality
inventory and kit prep
admin support and printing
other seated or low-impact tasks
We also reserve some scholarship seats that do not require labor. If you want to participate, we will help you find a path.
-
To protect the culture and safety of the space, volunteers agree to:
Show up on time and complete the shift as assigned
Maintain confidentiality and a respectful tone
Follow house rules, including quiet hours during retreats
Avoid acting as a teacher, therapist, or spiritual authority. If something feels off, please notify staff or the lead steward.

You can earn your membership by volunteering at Nameless Mountain, in lieu of making a donation.
